Adam Bennett - Managing Director
As founder and Managing Director of Hatstand, Adam has led the business from its inception in 1999,
to its current position employing over 50 consultants. A management consultant with over seventeen
years experience within the financial markets industry, Adam has specialised in trading room
environments - from design to implementation through to support. Specific strengths include
market data management, both technical and commercial, trading systems, design, deployment and
management and global production services - rationalisation, centralisation, change management
and service management.

Steve Bunce - Principal Consultant
Steve Bunce is an experienced IT professional with significant investment banking knowledge,
in particular, cash equity and equity derivatives operations. Steve has over 20 years' IT
experience within the financial markets and has held a number of senior positions with top
tier investment banking firms, including Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse First Boston, HSBC
Investment Bank, Gota Bank and CWB. He has led a number of high profile initiatives, including
MiFID, Y2K, Sarbanes Oxley, eCommerce development, European RMDS deployment and project recovery.
Prior to joining Hatstand, Steve was IT Programme Manager for the MiFID programme at Merrill Lynch.
Lee Diss - Senior Consultant
Lee has over twelve years experience in Information Technology. He has worked in the MOD, local government,
Public and financial sectors. His main strengths are FIX, client connectivity, and client take on.
He has a detailed knowledge of client take on and business flow for trading systems on various platforms
such as Linux, Solaris. He has first hand experience for building, implementing, testing and upgrading
systems to ensure growth and reliability. This is backed up with a solid knowledge of NT server support
and administration. He has worked at a Global Investment Bank for over 7 years where he has been involved
with Algorithmic, DMA, Program (Portfolio), Derivatives and Cash trading from testing through to implementation
and support.
John Hardman - Senior Consultant
John is a highly experienced Team Leader / Software Engineer / QA Engineer with 20 years of hands-on
IT development experience, gained predominantly in the financial sector. John has worked at a
number of large institutions, including UBS, Fidelity, Dow Jones, Citibank, Reuters and the London
Stock Exchange.
Sylvia Smit - Senior Business Analyst
Sylvia Smit is a senior business analyst with around 14 years' experience in the financial markets.
She has extensive knowledge of equities investment banking as well as familiarity with fixed income
and derivative products. She has detailed knowledge of front office systems such as Fidessa, GL,
Bloomberg and Reuters, as well as proprietary in-house systems, and is experienced in producing
high-level business requirement specifications, conceptual data models and cost/benefit analyses.
Sylvia began her career at ING (Barings) with responsibility for the analysis, implementation and
roll-out of the Barings Front Office system. Since then, she has worked for UBS (Warburg) and
royalblue financial. She is a registered Representative of the SFA.
Peter Mather - Senior Analyst
Peter Mather has extensive experience of implementing business change and technology solutions in
leading financial firms to provide controlled operation and competitive advantage for business users.
Peter has broad experience across all instrument classes and business functions with significant
exposure to front-office Sales and Trading operations. Peter has conducted extensive research into
MiFID and is a member of the ISITC MiFID Joint Working Group. Peter has lectured at universities in
Eastern Europe with regard to financial trading technologies and banking systems, and held previous
positions with ANZ Bank, JP Morgan and UBS Warburg working in most of the major financial centres
around the world.
